According to the comments and information obtained, the first episode opens up with a tense meeting Sansa Stark who is currently in-charge of Winterfell and Jon and Daenerys who are returning from their disastrous trip to the Wall. Sansa is asked to swear allegiance to Deny, and this has created the chills on everyone as the tension is very high. Nothing other than this known about the upcoming season. As already mentioned season 8 will be the final season of the whole series which has set the expectation level bar very high.
